H.H. Leonards dives into Rosa Parks’ untold history in new book (includes video story)

Books and Books in Coral Gables on Tuesday hosted author H.H. Leonards to talk about her book, “Rosa Parks Beyond the Bus: Life, Lessons, and Leadership,” which tells the untold story of the iconic African-American American activist during her stay at the author’s home in Washington, D.C.

Leonards stated in depth the lessons she learned from Parks, who famously refused to give up her seat on a bus in segregated Montgomery, Alabama in 1955, with some thought-provoking question-and-answer discussions from the audience.

The author mentioned how the book explains the actual events surrounding Park’s familiar encounters.

“The book is not about me or my philosophy,” said Leonards. “It’s about how Ms. Parks survived and how she still survives.”

“Rosa Parks Beyond the Bus: Life, Lessons, and Leadership” is available for purchase in select book stores including Books and Books and on Amazon
