The Cutler Bay Community Theatre offers free improv sessions (includes video story)

Located on Old Cutler Road, The Cutler Bay Community Theatre offers free improv sessions for two hours every Monday at 7 p.m. The sessions alternate between Zoom and in-person, which are held at the Palmetto Bay Branch Library or nearby.

The sessions are free but donations are recommended.

CBCT members insist that doing improv with a group can help boost one’s self esteem, as well as cognitive and social skills.

“I think a lot of times, we humans repress our ultimate selves,” says CBCT member and psychologist Michael Acosta. “Improv gives us a vehicle to be authentic, to not be judged, to be supported, And all those things together really can help strengthen our own selves.”
