Gold Coast Jazz Society and Pompano Beach partner to bring music to city (includes video story)

The Bailey Contemporary Arts Center in Pompano Beach hosts its own monthly jazz event. It’s been happening for five years and aims to enrich the community with smooth melodies and rhythm.

The event is partnered with the Gold Coast Jazz Society to bring “spontaneous creativity,” said music director Martin Hand.

Jazz is not the only entertainment. The gallery welcomes guests to view artwork or watch the residents piece their next craft. April’s featured artist is Oscar Montoya, who specializes in fine art. His showcase of cancer survivors is currently open to the public.

Montoya is a cancer survivor himself and looks forward to the emotions his artwork brings.

This event happens every second Thursday of the month at 41 NE 1st St. in Pompano Beach. Students enter free with a valid student ID.
