Sea Level Solutions event looks at climate change (includes video story)

The annual Sea Level Solutions event was held at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens this past Saturday.

The goal of the day is for the youth in South Florida to be educated on concerns in the area regarding rising sea levels, and the potentially catastrophic consequences that may occur if immediate action is not taken.

After the introductory conference, those who attended were separated into groups and sent on data collecting tasks across all of Key Biscayne.

Artist and environmental activist Xavier Cortada spoke towards the effect that gatherings such as this one can have on the community.

“Every person in there is volunteering to collect data to help future Miamians, to help others,” said Cortada.
