St. Petersburg’s Chamber of Commerce revs up for legislative session (includes video story)

Last Friday, the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce held its 125th annual meeting and unveiled the city’s revitalization plan. The event featured a lecture by the renowned urbanist and YouTuber, City Nerd, who has 230,000 subscribers.

The focal point was the chamber’s list of 2024 legislative priorities, which include emphasizing education and workforce development. Funding requests included initiatives for environmental science, early childhood education and educational innovation.

Employee housing and property insurance reform were also key focuses — as were public transit investments like bus rapid transit, ferry service, light rail, eVTOL, and water taxis.

Chamber President Chris Steinocher envisions the group as a leading force for economic growth and vitality in the community.

Hannah Kosoff is a highly motivated and dedicated individual who is currently pursuing a pre-med track as a junior majoring in Broadcast Media, with a minor in French. Upon completion of her studies, she intends to embark on a career in the field of documentary production and/or attend medical school to further her professional development.
