Fans show their excitement for the Miami Marlins (includes video story)

After making the playoffs last year for the first time in a full season since 2003, the hype is high for the Miami Marlins. The support for the team was shown in full force on Friday, as the Marlins hosted their annual “FanFest” event at LoanDepot Park. FanFest is a free event that features many activities for people to have fun with.

Fans had the chance to meet players such as former Cy Young-Award winning pitcher Sandy Alcantara, young phenom fireballer Eury Perez and starting catcher Nick Fortes.

“Meeting the players was my favorite part,” said fan Enrique De La Osa.

The Marlins also introduced a new blue uniform for next year.

The Marlins, with one of the youngest rosters in Major League Baseball, aim to meet high fan expectations next season. Led by 2023 all-star and MVP candidate Luis Arraez, Miami seeks to make history with consecutive playoff appearances. Last season marked the highest attendance since 2017 (still last in the National League), signaling some questions for the franchise. Building on this momentum, the Marlins aim to address last year’s challenges and strive for a third World Series title.
