Woman, 107, has lived a full life (includes video story)

Sharay Samuels had just started working at McKinley Services, an insurance provider, when she helped a 107-year-old woman with her Medicaid benefits.

Phoibe Nayirabashali was born in 1917 in the Congo of East Africa before moving to Rwanda. In her lifetime, she birthed and raised 15 children, only three of whom remain today. She now resides in a small apartment in Anchorage, Alaska with her daughter Solange and a caregiver.

“I want you to be kind,” shared Nayirabashali. “I want you to love everyone.”

Victoria Fonseca is a senior majoring in Digital Broadcasting with an area of concentration in Hospitality Management. After her studies, she wishes to pursue a career in the entertainment and hospitality field.
