Eugenio Derbez’s movie “Radical” about Mexican teacher changing lives hits theaters today (includes video story)

“Radical,” the captivating film that earned the “Festival Favorite” award at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, hits theaters across the U.S. on Nov. 3.

Set against the backdrop of San Salvador Atenco, Mexico, the film authentically embraces its cultural roots, benefiting from Eugenio Derbez’s Mexican heritage. “Radical” was created by Derbez and features him as Sergio Juarez, a teacher who empowers his students to transcend the violence and despair of their small Mexican town.

Notably, “Radical” overcame challenges during its production amidst the actors’ strike, thanks to the SAG-AFTRA Interim Agreement.

The movie is presented primarily in Spanish but provides English subtitles for wider accessibility.
