Miami Palmetto Senior High students help CNN break exclusive news (includes video story)

When Cecilia Altonaga, chief judge of Miami federal district court, banned electronics in the courtroom, it presented a major hurdle to news outlets. They needed a way to quickly relay information from the courtroom to the public.

So, CNN responded by hiring a group of students from Miami Palmetto Senior High, the alma mater of the network’s senior coordinating producer Noah Gray.

With the help of one of his former teachers, who happens to be the head of the TV production program, they were able to devise a meticulous plan that resembled an advanced game of telephone.

And it worked. CNN was among the first to break news regarding former President Donald Trump’s arraignment.
