Architecture students in an interior design program were given the chance to make their own designs of a historic building in Miami.
Design Your World is a summer program hosted by the International Interior Design Association and Black Architects in the Making. The students in the program were tasked with redesigning the Historic Hampton House in the Brownsville community.
Mentors in the program encouraged their students to let loose with their creativity.
“I don’t force what they should be designing or what they should be incorporating into their space,” said Kenzie Leon, an interior designer. “I had one student that loved cats and birds and her final logo actually happened to be a cat playing a saxophone.”
