Patrick Cornejo is the E-sports coordinator at Florida International University. He is in charge of all the players who represent the school around the nation. Patrick started this program from scratch, looking to share his passion with the world. He wants to help students who have a passion for games to take part in this growing industry and he seeks to make the activities known throughout the world.
E-sports is a multimillion-dollar industry that has been on the rise recently. There are many professional teams that specialize in a variety of video games and bring in very large audiences. Major events can include an audience of about 40,000 people both in person and online through streaming.
Many people who play video games dream of going pro but lack the connections and opportunities. However, Cornejo wants to give young people a chance to make it to the professional level.
