Fans gather to watch Florida Panthers play in the Stanley Cup finals (includes video story)

For the first time since 1996, the Florida Panthers made it to the Stanley Cup Finals. Even though game one of the series was in Vegas, fans came together at FLA Live Arena to cheer on the South Florida team.

After 27 years, the new generation of Panther fans was more than ready to experience the finals. Many on hand weren’t even born yet when the Cats last made the final.

Fan Andres Guerrero respooinded this way when asked if he had been around for the 1996 Stanley Cup appearance: “No, I was born in 1997, so one year off.”

The Las Vegas Golden Knights took game one, beating Florida 5-2, but that didn’t stop the fans from cheering until the end.

The Cats look to tie the series tonight in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena.
