Howard University makes history competing in NCAA for second year (includes video story)

Howard University’s Bison basketball will face Wagner College tonight for the right to match up against the No. 1 seed University of North Carolina.

This marks the second year in a row that Howard will appear at the NCAA Tournament following a 30+ year absence.

This is a big step for the school as historically Black colleges and universities (HBCU) generally do not have a good record in the tournament. But the Bison are determined to showcase what they are made of.

“I feel like it proved we can compete with the best,” shared fan and Howard Bison football player Kenny Gallop. “[There are] a lot of talented guys in HBCUs, especially at Howard, that can play at a higher level.”
