Artist Raymond Elman showcases “The Portraits” at the FIU Jewish Museum (includes video story)

Florida International University professor and artist Raymond Elman showcases his art series “The Portraits” at the FIU Jewish Museum in Miami Beach. It depicts people Elman has interviewed throughout his career.

“I ask people to pick a place [that] has a meaning for them,” said Elman.

For jazz vocalist Nicole Henry, that’s South Beach. Elman interviewed Henry for Artspeak Magazine and featured her in a portrait titled “On the Run.”

“I love the title because I always run in South Beach,” said Henry.

The exhibit started on Sunday, Oct. 22 and will run until March 3, 2024. For more information, visit Jmof.fiu.edu.
