Luis Suárez steps up as Messi sits against D.C. United (includes video story)

Luis Suárez scored twice as a substitute to lead Inter Miami to a 3-1 victory over D.C. United on Sunday.

Leonardo Campana also contributed a goal and an assist for Inter Miami.

Lionel Messi, the team’s number-one star, missed the game due to a muscle injury sustained in a previous match. Jared Stroud scored for D.C. United in the 14th minute, but Inter Miami responded with goals from Campana and Suárez.

Suárez’s goals came in the 72nd and 85th minutes, securing the win for Inter Miami.
