FIU Women’s Center celebrates female change makers at annual conference (includes video story)

This Wednesday, Florida International University’s Women’s Center held its 17th annual Women Who Lead Conference in the Graham Center ballrooms of the Modesto Maidique Campus.

This year’s theme, “Women Who Are Change Makers,” invited FIU students and the South Florida community to celebrate women who facilitate change at the local, national, and international levels. The event was opened by keynote speaker, author, and feminist advocate Prisca Dorcas Mojica Rodríguez and featured a diverse panel and several workshops.

“We come here with the same purpose, with the same goal: to elevate each other,” said the center’s program manager, Brittany Davis, on what she considered the main takeaway of the conference.
