A young life is taken after a targeted shooting in Florida (includes video story)

Three-year-old Jaquez Norton was shot and killed while sitting inside a Toyota Rav-4 Monday in Lakeland.

The attack occurred when two men in a white Dodge Challenger pulled alongside the Toyota and started shooting. Luckily, the boy’s mother was not injured.

It all took place at 6:30 p.m. near an apartment complex, with neighbors and people around taking cover and hiding in their homes till the gunshots quieted down. Afterward neighbors came out to observe the aftermath of what had happened.

“We just saw everyone crying. It was very sad.” said neighbor Melissa Flores. “It was a very horrible scene. Nobody would ever want to see that. It was horrible.”

Authorities have recovered both the Dodge Challenger and the firearms used in the attack. However, they are still on the hunt for the driver of the vehicle and are offering a reward of $5000 for any information relating to an arrest.
