Florida International University’s men’s basketball team took on a top conference competitor, the Sam Houston Bearkats of Texas, this past Saturday at the Ocean Bank Arena.
FIU Hoops played passionately on their home court, feeling the energy in the atmosphere as fans showed up and supported them throughout the game.
Senior guard Javaunte Hawkins broke the record for most 3-point shots made in FIU history.
“Basketball and life are all about how you respond,” said head coach Jeremy Ballard. “We couldn’t have responded any better tonight.”
