Miami Spice is officially over (includes video story)

Miami Spice is officially over. The two-month-long dining promotion wrapped up on Sept. 30, after starting in August. It provides a wallet-friendly $30 to $60 three-course meal.

Our reporter, Virginia Tijerino, had the chance to dine at Doya, a Mediterranean hotspot in the heart of Wynwood, and enjoyed a three-course meal for $35.

The Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau created this event in 2001 to showcase the area’s outstanding restaurants to both visitors and locals.

Restaurant owners agree that Miami Spice has a positive impact, providing increased support for businesses during slower months.

“I just came from another place and I paid $35 for just one meal, so I didn’t get dessert or an appetizer or anything like that,” said Miami local Tierra Symone

If you enjoy this fantastic deal, be sure to mark your calendar for Miami Spice next year.
