Authorities in Pembroke Pines are investigating a shooting.
Officers rushed to the Avant Apartment Complex on Pembroke Road at approximately 3:16 p.m. on Tuesday following reports of gunfire in the area.
First responders found two victims at the scene. A woman received treatment for a minor hand injury on-site, while a man with a gunshot wound to the leg was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital in stable condition.
“It’s happening everywhere now. I mean, in my own community,” said Kimberly Juarez, a resident at the Avant Apartment Complex. “I don’t even feel safe where I lay my head to sleep at night.”
No suspect descriptions or vehicle details have been provided, but authorities assure the community that there is no ongoing threat.
