Sideline: Playoffs Edition

Sideline makes a surprise summer return after South Florida sports make historic runs. Both the Heat and the Panthers wert eighth seeds and both are headed to their respective championships.

The Heat had a nerve-wrecking series against the Boston Celtics, first winning three games in a row, then losing three, taking it to game 7, winner takes all.

And the Heat did in fact take it all. They shut down the Celtics for the Eastern Conference title. Bryan Lopez has more on the story.

Although the game was in Boston, fans here at home in Miami went wild on the streets honking their horns, cheering, celebrating and banging pots and pans. Jared Parker is in the middle of it all.

The Heat couldn’t pull off a sweep but the Florida Panthers did. It’s been almost a week since the Cats beat the Carolina Hurricanes in the first four games of the series. They never let Carolina take over. Tania Jimenez has more.
