Young journalists celebrated at STEP Univision graduation (includes video story)

Florida International University journalism students graduated from Univision’s STEP program Thursday morning. The ceremony celebrated the students’ achievements throughout the program and the top professionals who guided them along the way.

The STEP program works with the Lee Caplin School of Journalism & Media to provide students with hands-on work opportunities with projects on social media, project management, resume preparation,  live shots, producing and more.

“Not only [do] we get to share what Televisa Univision is but also, we get to learn from the students,” said Ruben Robledo, senior vice president of production operations of Televisa Univision. “They show up with new ideas and learn the technical aspects that they want to dive into and kind of help us to make it better for them as well.”

The program is 12 weeks long at Univision’s Doral headquarters.
