iWitness: Bill Frakes on photographing Cuba in 1980s (includes video story)

Native Nebraskan Bill Frakes is a visual storyteller working in both photography and video. He started his photography career at the Miami Herald, where he worked from 1979 to 1992. Sitting in conversation with Dr. Karla Kennedy, he recounts his time covering local stories and Cuban politics.

Frakes has also freelanced in advertising for clients like Apple, Nike, Coca-Cola, Nikon, Mars, Manfrotto, and Reebok. He directs music videos and television ads.
