FIU opens exhibition for Fine Arts seniors (includes video story)

Family members, friends and other FIU students attended the grand opening of the Fall BFA 2022 Thesis Exhibition, where the Fine Arts seniors got to show their art to the world one last time before their graduation in December.

This thesis exhibition has been a requirement for the program since its beginnings. Students showed their appreciation for the chance to display their art, as they said it can be hard as a rising artist to find those opportunities in Miami.

Claudette Sernius said, “Part of being an artist is putting yourself out there, which sometimes can be challenging, so putting that into the classroom as a requirement for students I think is very essential because when you’re out in the world, this is what you do”.

The exposition is taking place at Laundromat Art Space, in Little Haiti, and will stay open until Oct. 27.
