Born in Maracay, Venezuela, Michelle Valentina Sanz Mateu, artistically known as Michi Sanz, began her career at age six, when she discovered that music is her true passion. Since then, she has shown her musical evolution in festivals, media, and major events.. Now age 20 and living in Miami, she is a Venezuelan pop singer and songwriter with 220K followers on Instagram. This past March, Billboard described her and “up and coming Latin independent artist, Earlier this year, Rolling Stone named her one of its top “artists to listen to.”
Sanz is proud of how far women have progressed in many different parts of the music industry. She says it is an honor for her to join in this expansion. Live performances are her favorite aspect of performing. Sanz enjoys seeing the faces of her fans as they relate to her music and recognize the lyrics. She says her songs are based on true stories, so she really wants people to identify with them.
Her passion for music led her to win various awards in her native country, and she is currently a member of the Latin Grammy Academy. She has become a songwriter for other international artists such as Leslie Shaw, and Jossef the Universal Music Label.,
Sanz has more than 120,000 streams on the Spotify platform thanks to her unique and personal interpretation of pop rock in Spanish. She has a fresh sound with a lot of personality. Her next single, “Rock star,” will soon be released.
