Sideline Season 3, Episode 2

In Sideline’s second show of 2024, the FIU swimming and diving team hosts its senior day, the Heat retires long-time captain Udonis Haslem’s jersey, the Heat and Panther’s losing streaks continue, Inter Miami prepares for the 2024 season and the NFL divisional round wraps up.

The FIU swimming and diving team celebrated senior day during a meet against Florida Gulf Coast at the Biscayne Bay Campus on Saturday. The final score was 194-106 in favor of the Panthers. Sideline was poolside for the action.

The Heat immortalized three-time NBA Champion Udonis Haslem by placing his jersey in the rafters during the halftime of Friday’s game against the Hawks. Sideline was also there for the festivities.

The Heat, however, did a poor job of honoring Miami’s OG – losing both games over the weekend. The hockey Panthers were also in a slump last week, losing 6-4 in their third straight close outing against the Minnesota Wild on Friday.

Inter Miami provided a prelude to its 2024 season in a friendly matchup against El Salvador on Friday. Luis Suarez made his debut as the match ended in a 0-0 tie.

The NFL conference championship games were set this weekend. In the AFC, the Kansas City Chiefs will play their second road playoff game with Patrick Mahomes against the top-seeded Baltimore Ravens. Meanwhile, the Detroit Lions will continue their historic run when they go to the west coast to take on the San Francisco 49ers.
