Sideline S3 Ep.6

Sideline returned for its sixth show of 2024. This week, the Daytona 500 racers were slowed down by the Florida rain, while the FIU women’s basketball team continued revving up in sight of the Conference USA tournament.

FIU Baseball kicked off its season red hot – a start that Inter Miami is hoping to have to its own season after a disappointing run of friendly matchups. Meanwhile, the Florida Panthers maintained their status as the best hockey team in the Sunshine State

The Daytona 500 had to be postponed to today due to weather delays. However, the rain did not stop the Sideline from providing updates from the track.

The FIU women’s basketball team hosted Louisiana Tech on Saturday in an anticipated rematch. Unlike the previous outing between these two teams, FIU ran away with the game off the back of a 24-9 run in the third. The final score was 68-51 in favor of the Panthers.

An outdoor event that was not deterred by the rain was the opening day of FIU Baseball. The Panthers swept their weekend series against LIU, 3-0, in dominant fashion.

Inter Miami is set to begin its season against Real Salt Lake on Wednesday. The star-studded team will look to move past its preseason turmoil.

The Florida Panthers made light work of their in-state duel against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday. The final score was 9-2 in favor of the best team in the Eastern Conference.
