Sideline: Season 2, Episode 5

Sideline returns with its fifth show of 2023. This week, the U fumbled a surefire win in disappointing fashion, the Dolphins recaptured the top spot in their division, the Heat aimed for another finals appearance after a successful training camp in Boca Raton, and two South Florida teams saw the end of their playoff dreams.

The U’s football game against Georgia Tech on Saturday night seemed to be over with 34 seconds left. The clear call was to kneel and clinch the win, but head coach Mario Cristobal called a run. This led to a late game turnover that cost Miami the game. Sideline was on the field to witness the shocking upset.

The Dolphins took out their frustrations from last week’s game against the Buffalo Bills by beating up on another New York team, the Giants, this past Sunday. They hope to continue cruising atop the AFC East as they face the winless Carolina Panthers next week.

The Miami Heat look to regroup after missing out on star acquisitions and suffering a  few key losses in their rotation. Sideline was outside of the Kaseya Center last Monday for Heat Media Day.

The Marlins saw their unexpected run to the postseason finished in two quick games to the Philadelphia Phillies while Inter Miami’s year came to an end with a loss to Cincinnati on Saturday. Both teams aim to continue youth movements and for their veterans to remain healthy.
