Sideline returns for its tenth show of 2023. This past week, the U faced tough in-state competition in basketball and football, the Panthers redeemed themselves against the Blackhawks, and the Heat won five straight.
FIU basketball took the U to its limit Monday night in the Watsco Center. It was the first matchup between the South Florida schools in 15 years. It was an impressive showing for the Panthers, despite the 86-80 loss. Sideline was courtside for the thriller.

The Heat reached five straight wins against the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday. The team is 3-0 on its current roadstand. Miami is looking for a clean sweep when it faces the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday before going back home.
The U fell to yet another top ACC team. This time, the loss was at the hands of the Canes’ in-state rival FSU. Though the team put up a fight, it was just not enough as FSU remained undefeated with a 27-20 win.

Tania Jimenez is a senior majoring in communication with a concentration in digital broadcasting. She is interested in sports. After graduation, she would like to continue her career journey in the world of sports media.
Zeth Leon is of Cuban descent. He is currently a Junior at FIU majoring in Digital Communications and Media with a concentration in digital broadcasting. After graduation, he plans to incorporate his love for sports into his work by becoming a play-by-play commentator or talk show host for a sports network.
Anthony Cruz is a freshmen majoring in Digital Media and Communications. He hopes to pursue a career in sports broadcasting.
Esteban Rodriguez is a sophomore majoring in TV/Broadcast media. He is a producer for Caplin News and FIU's Sports show, Sideline. He hopes to pursue this path of producing for Sports Networks and/or Hollywood in the Film Industry.
